What We Believe

What We Believe

At Trinity United Presbyterian Church, we believe that God calls us—followers of Jesus Christ—to demonstrate His love in the world. Rooted in grace and guided by Scripture, our faith invites all people into a deeper relationship with God and one another.

We are a church in the  Reformed Tradition with Presbyterian roots, joyfully affiliated with ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. This affiliation reflects our commitment to flourishing gospel-centered churches, spiritual vitality, and a clear theological foundation.

Our Core Beliefs

  • God’s Word is our authority. We believe the Bible is the inspired and trustworthy Word of God, revealing Jesus Christ, who is the living Word. Through Scripture, God graciously teaches us all we need for faith and life.
  • We worship a Triune God. We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternal and unchanging, holy and loving. This divine mystery is the heart of our worship and our hope.
  • Jesus Christ is Lord. Fully God and fully human, Jesus is the Savior of the world. Through His death and resurrection, we are offered forgiveness, freedom, and new life as adopted children of God.
  • We are saved by grace. Salvation is a gift, not something we earn. It comes by God’s initiative, through faith in Jesus Christ, and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.
  • The Church is God’s covenant community. We are called together not just to believe, but to belong—to grow in faith, serve our neighbors, and share God’s love with the world.
  • We live for God’s glory. Every part of our lives matters to God. We are called to live faithfully—loving God with our hearts, minds, and strength—and loving others as Christ loves us.

Our Affiliation

We are a member of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians, a denomination founded in 2012 to help churches flourish in mission, discipleship, and gospel witness.

ECO’s Essential Tenets reflect historic Christian faith and the rich theological tradition of Reformed Presbyterianism. You can read more about ECO and its Essential Tenets below.

Living Out Our Faith

Our beliefs are not just statements—they shape the way we live. At Trinity, we:

  • Gather for worship each week to praise God and grow together
  • Offer Christ-centered teaching for all ages
  • Encourage community service and mission—locally and globally
  • Support one another through fellowship and prayer
  • Walk with families through our Preschool ministry, nurturing children in love and truth

Questions?

We know that beliefs matter—and questions are welcome.
If you’d like to talk more about our faith, theology, or what we believe as a church, we’d love to hear from you.
